1.2.3 Continuous Form Attachment or Continuous Feeder Attachment

The Continuous Form Attachment (CFA)
feeds and cuts the continuous form media. It receives both power and control signals from the
print engine. It contains the following major components.
 System Board – Controls all actions of the individual components. Updatable firmware
controls the system. The firmware version is displayed on the printer's device information
report.
 Guide Drive System – Moves the media forward and backward; straightens the media;
retracts when not in use. Consists of subsystems of independent motors, gears and
wheels.
 Rotary Cutter – Cuts the 8.5" width of the media by moving across the page. Consists of
a rotary blade, rail system and motor. The cutter blade has been factory-rated to 20,000
cuts.
 Media Sensors – Detects the continuous form media as it moves through the device.
 Connector and wires – Connects wiring from CFA to print engine wiring for control and
power signals.
 Case – Housing for all components made from a combination of CAD-generated plastic
and machined pieces as well as sheet-rolled metal.

The Continuous Form Attachment is manufactured by Neuralog, LP. The NeuraLabel 500e CFA
has been designed to work with the NeuraLabel 500e printer. It is not compatible with the
original NeuraLabel printer; nor is the original NeuraLabel CFA compatible with this next
generation printer.

1.2.4 Multi-Purpose Feeder
