Exchange of equipment

11.1.1
Exchange of a I10 (/I10K) fieldbus control unit against a I20 fieldbus system
A R1000 I10 fieldbus control unit can be replaced by a R1000 I20 fieldbus system.
The following must thereby be considered.
1. Enclosure
The enclosure with the connections and mounting fixtures is fully compatible.
2. Power consumption
The power consumption of the I20 fieldbus can reach 15W, versus 10W for the I10 (/I10K).
3. Fieldbus interface
The process channel has been extended from 4 bytes to 16 bytes (i.e. altogether 24 bytes for
the I20 fieldbus as compared to 12 bytes the I10 fieldbus control unit).
The control via the fieldbus interface is compatible, however extended accordingly.
The equipment supplies now also the individual results of measurement with the additional
bytes and offers additional operational features.
The Teach-In for 1-sheet and for 2-sheet are represented on other bits.
4. External I/O control
The external I/O control of the I20 fieldbus control unit corresponds to that of the I10 fieldbus
system.
5. Signal „Warning"
The signal "Warning" has been additionally installed.
6. Voltage supply of the I/O circuits
If the I/O inputs / outputs are used, then the voltage supply for the I/O circuits must also be
connected, since they are externally supplied.
7. Measurement functions
The I20 fieldbus has a shorter measuring time.
With that new so-called sequencer mode several sensors can be more efficiently interrogated.
8. Sensors
The new sensors of the I20 system are completely different. Therefore the sensors of the I10
and I10K systems cannot be connected to the I20 fieldbus equipment.
9. Sensor cable
The sensor cables of the I10 and I10K systems can no longer be used.
10. Configuration
The I20 offers new configuration features (see also 7.9).

The configuration files for the respective fieldbus systems can be found on the enclosed CD.
