Handset Screen Displays "Searching"

Solution
Press and hold the star (*) key for 2 seconds to unlock the keypad.
Handset Screen Displays "Searching"
Problem
The handset displays the message Searching.
Cause
The handset is too far from the closest base station or the base station is not active.
Solution
• If the handset has been stationary, the base station may be rebooting or inactive.
• If the handset has been carried around, it may be out of range of the base station.

View the Handset Status

You can see the status of your handset to assist in troubleshooting problems. Information includes the firmware
version installed on the handset as well as information about the connected base station.
Procedure
Step 1
Press Menu
Step 2
Select Settings

Reset the Handset Settings

Your administrator may ask you for reset your handset. When this happens, your user settings (for example,
Setting menu, Local contacts, Speed dials) but the handset remains registered with the base station.

1. Wait a couple of minutes to see if the handset can communicate with the base station.
2. If the problem persists, check that the base station has power
• Short term solution: Move the handset closer to the base station.
• Long term solution: Add another base station to improve coverage.
