PHOENIX CONTACT
This page can be used to set the date and time. The system time is required if security
certificates are to be used for encrypted connections so that their period of validity can be
determined. Certificates can be used when WPA/RADIUS is selected as the security mode.
Figure 3-22
"Date & time" menu
The system time can be set manually or via an NTP server.
"Time zone" option
The correct time zone can be set under "Time zone". GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is the
standard European time to which the relevant time offset is applied.
"Enable timeserver" option/automatic setting of the system time
To set the system time automatically (server-controlled time synchronization), an NTP
server (Network Time Protocol) must be located in the network. In order to use the NTP
server services, activate the "Enable timeserver synchronization (NTP)" field. Enter the
IP address of the NTP server in the "IP Address" field.
"Manual setting of date & time" option/manual setting of the system time
From the drop-down menu select the values for both "day/month/year" and
"hour/minute/second".
The date and time settings are required for checking certificates, evaluating event logs,
and for time-based rules.
A reboot is required for the modified settings to take effect.
