3: Detailed User Interface Features
Factory Reset - Will restore the 'Lab Information', 'Service Mode Password' and 'Ellipsometer
Parameters' to factory defaults.
Date/Time for File Naming - Can be changed from US to EU for data file naming purposes.
6x1 Norm. On/Off – This enables the selection of including the additional 6x1 Normalized Data
when viewing the graph after a Measurement test.
Validation with synthetic Tube - Enables you to validate with a synthetic coated tube if
provided, the default for the validation mode is with the NIST Traceable Reference Tube.
Indexing – This is for the switching On/Off the indexing function.
Log – This section displays the last 100 log entries. Most actions of the Falex 430 ETR are
logged, two log files exist. If one file exceeds 1MB the logging switches to the other file. If the
file is already filled it will be overwritten. When a USB device is plugged in, the 'Copy Log to
external Storage' button is active. If no USB device is plugged in, this feature will be disabled.
IP Address - is shown if the device is connected to an external network. A network IP Address
will only be detected when the device is restarted and the Settings Display is reopened.
Camera Settings - is used to adjust the internal camera for capture of the tube serial number.
The default settings are shown below:
Picture Position: Adjusts picture horizontally (
default 20000
)
Older Units the Default is 8000
Rotation Speed: Adjusts how fast the tube is rotated for the picture (
)

Line Nr: Adjusts picture vertically (
)
default 200
LED-Dim: Adjusts the light/shading of the picture (
default 10
)
Full Picture: If checked, a full picture of the tube is taken, this is needed for finding the right
Line Nr.
Picture Frequency [Hz]: Typically not adjusted (
