Clearing memory contents
Contents of programmed memories can be cleared
(deleted).
1. Push [VFO/MR/CALL] several times to select the
memory or Call channel mode.
• For only the USA version:
Select any mode other than the weather
channel mode.
2. Push [FUNC], and then push [VFO/MR/CALL].
• "X" and "--" blink.
3. Push [Y] or [Z] to select the channel to be
cleared.
• Memory channels not yet programmed are
blank.
4. Perform the following operation within 1.5
seconds, otherwise the transceiver returns to the
memory mode without clearing memory.
1 Push [FUNC], and then momentarily push
[VFO/MR/CALL].
2 Push [FUNC], and then hold down [VFO/MR/
CALL] for 1 second
• 3 beeps sound, and then the memory
channel is cleared.
5. Push [VFO/MR/CALL] to return to the previous
mode.
BE CAREFUL! The contents of cleared memories
CANNOT be recalled.
Example: Clearing memory channel 11.
