5.7 Roof mounted awning *

Roof awning
The maximum permissible load for the bicycle carrier
is 40 kg.
If the rear-mounted bicycle carrier is not required, it must be folded up
and secured. To do this, use the clip

included in the accessory kit.
When driving with bicycles, the bicycle carrier must be unfolded and

Appropriate adapters and fitting components are available for sub-
sequent assembly of roof awnings. Please speak to your HOBBY
dealer.
The roof awning should always be assembled by an authorised
specialist.
The maximum permissible total width and total height may not be
exceeded by installing an awning.
• An awning offers protection from the sun, not against
the elements.
• Do not place people or obstacles in the extension/re-
traction area of the awning.
• The awning winding mechanism is fitted with a mecha-
nical block control to limit the extent to which it can be
extended. Never attempt to exceed the block control by
force.
• Always support the awning with the integrated support
legs when extended.
• The awning must always be completely retracted and
secured before driving.
Extending
• Insert the hook on the winding handle into the slot on the winding
mechanism.
• Hold the handle with one hand on the upper twist grip and the
other on the lower twist grip. During the operating procedure
gently pull the handle towards you and hold it as vertically in the
slot as possible.
• Turn the winding handle clockwise until the awning has been
rolled out about 1 m.
• Unfold the adjustable support legs on the inside of the drop tube
and use them to support the awning.
• Only then should you roll out the awning to the desired position.
• Remove the winding handle.
