IGMP Information screen
Go to the IGMP information screen from the Protocol Configuration screen.
Use this screen to see the IGMP clients that are actively listening to content from the demodulator. This
screen also helps to see how the Ethernet Interface is configured, either to receive requests to join IGMP
groups or to announce groups for others to join.

Shows IGMP status as [Enabled] or [Disabled].

Reports the client subscription content to the demodulator using the IGMP protocol. Use it to see
which services are being used, and the minimum time before a service will be terminated.
Modem as Server: IGMP query period, keystroke: Q

Requests that a server periodically publish the Multicast IP Addresses that it can service to users
on the LAN. The IGMP query period sets the time interval (in seconds) between each of these
queries for membership.
Modem as Server: IGMP max. response time, keystroke: R
•
Sets the time interval that the demodulator must wait before it assumes that no parties are
interested in the content published via an IGMP query. This interval is set in seconds. The
maximum response time that is accepted by the demodulator is 25 seconds.
Modem as Server: Number of missed responses before leaving IGMP group, keystroke: M

Sets the number of membership queries that go unanswered from LAN clients before the Ethernet
Interface no longer forwards data for that IGMP group.
o For example: a demodulator has the IGMP query period set to 60 seconds, and the
number of missed responses is set to 3. If a client joins an IGMP group, then the service
to that group continues until no clients respond to a query from the demodulator for a
period of 60*3 = 180 seconds.
