Chapter 18
Connecting to your computer via USB
If your USB-equipped computer is connected to the USB connector on the MV-8800's rear panel, you will be able to transfer
data between the two devices. WAV files or AIFF files saved on your computer can be loaded into the MV-8800 and used
as instruments or audio phrases.

To start communication with your computer

When you connect the MV-8800 to your computer via USB, the standard USB driver will be used.
1.
Use a USB cable to connect the MV-8800 and your computer.
2.
Press [DISK/USB].
The DISK/USB MENU screen (Screen Guide p. 188) will appear.
3.
Press [F3](USB), or use the cursor to select the USB icon and press [ENTER].
The USB screen (Screen Guide p. 194) will appear.
4.
Press [F5](Connect).
Communication between the MV-8800 and your computer will begin.
If the message "Save current Project before activating the USB connection" appears, press [F5](Yes) to save
the project if necessary.
Do not disconnect the USB cable while communication is enabled or data is being transferred. If you
do so, communication will be interrupted and the system will be unable to operate correctly, or the
transferred file may be damaged or lost.
Once USB communication begins, the only operation possible on the MV-8800 will be to stop USB
communication by pressing [F5](Disconnect).
