E N GI N E (With External Power)
1 . Throttle -- OPEN 114 INCH.
2. Mixture -- IDLE CUTOFF.
3. Propell e r Area -- CLEAR.
4. Master Swi t ch -- OFF.
5. External Power -- CONNECT to airpl a ne receptacle.
6. Master Swi t ch -- ON.
7. Fl a shing Beacon -- ON.
If engi n e i s warm, omi t priming procedure of steps 8, 9 and
1 0 bel o w.
8. Auxiliary Fuel Pump Swi t ch -- ON.
9. Mi x ture -- SET to FULL RICH (full forward) until stable fuel
fl o w i s indicated (usually 3 to 5 seconds), then set to IDLE
CUTOFF (full aft) posi t ion.
1 0. Auxiliary Fuel Pump Swi t ch -- OFF.
1 1 . Igni t ion Swi t ch -- START (release when engi n e starts).
1 2. Mi x ture -- ADVANCE smoothl y to RICH when engine starts.
If engine fl o ods (engine has been primed to much), turn off
auxi l iary fuel pump, set mi x ture i n idle cutoff, open throttle
1/2 to full, and motor (crank) engine. When engine starts,
set mixture to full ri c h and cl o se throttle promptl y .
13. Oi l Pressure -- CHECK.
1 4. External Power -- DISCONNECT from airpl a ne receptacle.
Secure external power door.
1 5. El e ctri c al System -- CHECK FOR PROPER OPERATION.
a. Master Swi t ch -- OFF
(di s connects both the battery and al t ernator from the
system).
