FRAME
The
following
changes
have
been
made
to
the
frames on
Models
C-71,
C-72,
C-73,
including all
Town and Country Wagon frames.
(1)
Slotted holes inslead of round are now used
in the front engine
support
brackets to
facilitate engine to frame alignment.
(2) The B-post body bolt
bracket
has been relo-
cated
on all frames to improve body to
frame attachment, see Figures
I, 2
and 3.
(3) The frames on the C-71, C-72 and C-73
have been lengthened,
see
Figures
1,
2,
and
3.
(4) A gusset bracket has been added to the rear
crossmember of the [rnme on all
Models
except the
Crown Imperial.

A
center
bearing
crossmember
has been
added to
the
C~73
frames,
Figure 2,
to sup-
port the
propeller
shaft center
bearing.
REAR AXLE CONTROL STRUT
(C·73 MODELS)
A
rear
axle control
strut
(Fig.
4) and center
bearing propeller
shaft
ha~
been incorporated
in the frame and
rear
axle
housing
design of
the C-73
Model for the purpose
of
controlling
the
ri~e
of the nose
of
the rear axle carrier
under varying load conditions.
Maintaining the proper
r
ea
r universal
joint
angularity is
important.
Conditions
may arise
under certain passenger loading which
may
create a propeller
shaft shudder
or vibration at
~peeds
of
1.5
to
20
miles
per
hour. Correction of
this
propeller shaft
shudder
should
be made in
the following
manner:
