Connecting

The following contains a short description of how to connect a remote mounted sensor to
transmitter types:
● SITRANS F M MAG 5000 / 6000 (standard versions)
● SITRANS F M MAG 6000 19" with Safety barrier
● SITRANS F M MAG 6000 I ex de
For more information, e.g. about wiring of power supply and outputs, please refer to the
Operating Instructions for the respective transmitters.
Before connecting
● Check that the serial numbers on the sensor and the SENSORPROM® unit are identical.
5.1

General safety requirements

The pertinent regulations must be observed for electrical installation.
 Never install the device with the mains voltage switched on!
 Danger of electric shock!
 The electrodes and magnetic current line may only be connected when the device is not
 If the housing is under voltage (power supply), the cover may be unscrewed by qualified
Mains supply from building installation Class II
A switch or circuit breaker (max. 15 A) must be installed in close proximity to the equipment
and within easy reach of the operator. It must be marked as the disconnecting device for
the equipment.
