Auxiliary Inputs
Pro Tools Auxiliary Inputs are used as buss and
effects returns for both internally-bussed signals
and external sources. The methods for assigning
inputs and outputs on Control 24 are essentially
the same as for audio tracks.
You can use an Auxiliary Input to create a sub-
mix of any combination of channels. By routing
channels to the Auxiliary Input instead of to the
main mix outputs of your session, you can:
• Apply real-time plug-ins.
• Apply an external processor to the submix.
• Consolidate control of multiple channels un-
der a single fader.
See the Pro Tools Reference Guide for more about
auxiliary tracks.
To route an Auxiliary Input:
Make sure you are in Home or Sends mode.
1
Press ASSIGN. The ASSIGN and ESC/CANCEL
2
buttons will both flash.
Press INPUT. This button will light.
3
The scribble strip for each track will display
4
default (or previously-assigned) input routing
configurations.
Adjust the data encoder knob to scroll
5
through the list of available inputs on each track
you want to configure.
When the abbreviated name of the input you
6
want appears in the scribble strip, press the
flashing button directly below the data encoder
knob to confirm your decision.

Master Faders
Master Faders are used to control levels and in-
sert processing for various types of mix and sub-
mix outputs.
You can use Master Faders freely to control sub-
mix levels, send level masters and main mix out-
put levels without consuming any of your sys-
tem's audio processing power.
Control 24 is uniquely handled to put master
faders at your fingertips. You can assign as many
Master Faders as you wish, and bring them up
on Control 24's faders with a single press on the
MASTER FADERS button.
See the Pro Tools Reference Guide for more about
master faders.
