• Enable and disable groups.

Creating New Groups
The CREATE button is used to create groups in
empty group locations, or overwrite existing
groups:
To create groups:
Make a selection of two or more channels.

Press CREATE in the GROUPS section. The fol-

lowing occurs:
• Its LED flashes, and the scribble strips dis-
play the following message for as long as
the button is pressed: "Press an encoder
switch to create a new group."
• This message is replaced by the names of
any existing groups, if the selected group
contains any existing members, along with
the remaining sequence of available letters
of the alphabet.
• Each group name or available letter is dis-
played on its own scribble strip, and the
MORE> button in the CHANNEL BAR
SCROLL section flashes to indicate that
there are more letters available (y and z) be-
yond the 24 current bank faders.
Press an encoder button to choose a new let-

ter. Or, to overwrite an existing group, press that
group's name.
Press ENTER on the numeric keypad to con-

firm the new group or that you want to over-
write the existing group. Press ESCAPE to exit
the group create process without overwriting.
Type the new group name on your alpha-nu-
5
meric keypad (or just press ENTER to use default
name) and press ENTER (to confirm the new
name and group) or press ESCAPE to cancel.
You can create a new name from
Control 24's numeric keypad, while never
leaving the control surface for the entire pro-
cess of creating and naming a new group.
The limitation is that the new groups's
name could only consist of numbers, and
the basic symbols (.+/*-+) provided on the
keypad.
Enabling/Disabling Groups
The ENABLE button enables groups to be en-
abled or disabled.
To enable or disable a group or groups:
Press the ENABLE button. (The corresponding

LED will flash)
A dialog across the scribble strips will prompt

you to select a group to enable or disable from
the list of existing groups, with an additional
option labeled ALL.
The LEDs are lit on any group currently en-
3
abled and flashing on any group not currently
enabled.
Press ENABLE again to confirm your selec-
4
tions, or ESC/CANCEL to cancel.
