TROUBLESHOOTING

FAULT
There is a smell of gas.
There is a smell of fumes.
There is condensate in the flue
pipes.
Combustion is uneven.

Ignition is slow and the burner
pulses.
The boiler gets dirty very quick-
ly.
The burner does not start up
after the flue gas thermostat
has been reset.
CAUSE
Gas supply circuit.
Leaks from the flue gas circuit.
Low flue gas temperature.
Incorrect gas pressure at burner.
Wrong nozzles installed.
Burner and heat exchanger need
cleaning.
Heat exchanger obstructed.
Incorrect gas pressure at burner.
Inefficient combustion.
Boiler thermostat or sensor fail-
ure.
Gas supply pressure.
Flue gas thermostat tripped.
Burner lockout
(red indicator lit on control panel)
SOLUTION
Check that all joints are tight and
that the pressure measurement
points are closed.
Check:
- That all joints are tight.
- That the flue is not obstructed.
- That combustion is efficient.
Check the combustion parame-
ters and the gas flow.
Check the temperature setting.
Check diameter.
Check condition.
Check cleanliness of passages.

Check combustion settings.

Mains gas supply pressure
Check the flue.
Check:
- no water supply.
- boiler thermostat.
- presence of gas supply.
- ignition transformer.
