Defroster (optional)

The following DLT-V83 devices are available optionally with a defroster.
− DLT-V8310 with 26 front keys and a resistive touchscreen
− DLT-V8312 with 26 front keys and a resistive touchscreen
Functional description
As soon as the internal temperature of the DLT-V83 device falls below 0 °C, the
defroster is automatically activated and heats the front of the device.
The front of the device thus thaws more quickly when leaving cold stores, for example.
In terms of the ambient temperature, this means:
− The defroster is typically activated at an ambient temperature of -5 to -15 °C.
This depends on how quickly the ambient temperature changes or how quickly the
DLT-V83 cools.
− The defroster is typically deactivated again when the ambient temperature rises up
to +5 to +15 °C.
The defroster has a heat output of approx. 20 watts.
Tips when using DLT-V83 devices with a defroster and UPS
 Do not park or store vehicles on which DLT-V83 devices with a defroster and an
integrated UPS are installed in areas with ambient temperatures below 0 °C.
 If vehicles on which DLT-V83 devices with a defroster and an integrated UPS are
installed are parked or stored for a significant length of time, disconnect the DLT-
V83 from the vehicle battery.
