Configuring the AP for Management by FlexMaster
or for Standalone Operation
Ruckus Wireless strongly recommends that you configure, or stage, the AP part of the
7781CM before mounting it. It is more convenient to connect the administrative computer
to the access point and configure the device in a depot than when the device is already
mounted on the cable strand.
NOTE: A standalone access point refers to a device that is not managed by Ruckus
Wireless ZoneDirector or Ruckus Wireless FlexMaster.
NOTE: You may need to disable the firewall between the AP and the FlexMaster server
to complete this procedure.
Logging Into the AP's Web Interface
1. Collect required equipment and information:
An administrative computer as configured as described in
istrative Computer"
One Cat5e or better Ethernet cable.
MAC address (12 alphanumeric digits) from the outside of the AP case.
2. Verify that the AP is powered on as described in
page 18.
3. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the administrative computer's Ethernet port,
and then connect the other end to the 7781CM's Ethernet port.
4. In an administrative computer address or location bar, type the following address:
https://192.168.100.2
5. Press <Enter> on the keyboard to connect to the AP's Web interface. A security alert
message appears.
6. Click Yes or OK or Proceed anyway (depending on the browser) to continue. The AP's
login page appears.
