16 Disposal of Redundant / Unserviceable Parts
TPPR components must be disposed of in accordance with local and international laws. They shall not be disposed of by
incineration or as domestic waste.
PCB and Backplane e-waste is hazardous due to the presence of toxic substances such as Cadmium, Chromium,
Lead, and Mercury, and flame retardants such as polybrominated biphenyls and diphenylethers.
Always dispose of e-waste in accordance with the WEEE Directive; do not dispose of it in domestic waste.
16.1 Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive
TPPR is compliant with the requirements of the RoHS Directive.
16.2 Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive
This symbol indicates that the product and/or parts of the product may not be treated as household or municipal waste.
Waste electrical products (end of life) should be recovered/recycled where suitable specialist WEEE disposal facilities exist.

16.3 TPPR System Construction
The TPPR system contains the following materials:

16.3.2 TPPR Battery Enclosure
The TPPR Backup Battery enclosures may contain 12 VDC Sealed Rechargeable Lead-Acid Batteries (SLAB). These
batteries contain toxic and corrosive substances that may cause injury or damage if the batteries become damaged, or if
they are mishandled, incinerated or disposed of incorrectly.
Batteries should be disposed of separately from household waste and in accordance with local laws and regulations.
Always dispose of batteries in accordance with the WEEE Directive; do not dispose of them in domestic waste.
