12. Network Settings

12.1.1 RADIUS Settings

To allow authentication and authorization for B030-008-17-IP through a RADIUS server:
1. Check the Enable box in the RADIUS section.
2. Fill in the IP addresses and port numbers for the Preferred and Alternate RADIUS servers.
3. In the Timeout field, set the time in seconds that the KVM Switch waits for a RADIUS server reply before it times out.
4. In the Retries field, set the number of allowed RADIUS retries.
5. In the Shared Secret field, key in the character string to use for authentication between the KVM Switch and the RADIUS Server.
6. On the RADIUS server, Users can be authenticated with the following methods:
– Set the entry for the user as su/xxxx, where xxxx represents the Username given when the account was created in the B030-008-17-IP
User Management page.
– Use the same Username on both the RADIUS server and the B030-008-17-IP .
In each case, the user's access rights are those assigned in the User Management section of the B030-008-17-IP .
7. Click Save at the bottom of the screen to save all of the settings.

12.1.2 Configuring RADIUS Authentication

The following instructions show how to configure a Windows 2003 server with the B030-008-17-IP .
Note: These steps were taken on a Windows 2003 server with the Internet Authentication Service (IAS) component installed.

Note: The Shared Secret will be used in communication with the RADIUS server. Only one RADIUS server is used in this scenario so the primary and alternative
RADIUS servers are assigned the same settings.
