Command Line Interface
The access mode shown in the following tables is indicated by these abbreviations:
ACL (Access Control List Configuration)
CM (Class Map Configuration)
NE (Normal Exec)
GC (Global Configuration)
IC (Interface Configuration)

General Commands

These commands are used to control the command access mode, configuration
mode, and other basic functions.
Command
Function

enable

Activates privileged mode
disable
Returns to normal mode from privileged mode
configure
Activates global configuration mode
show history
Shows the command history buffer
reload
Restarts the system
prompt
Customizes the prompt used in PE and NE mode
end
Returns to Privileged Exec mode
exit
Returns to the previous configuration mode, or exits the CLI
quit
Exits a CLI session
help
Shows how to use help
?
Shows options for command completion (context sensitive)
enable
This command activates Privileged Exec mode. In privileged mode, additional
commands are available, and certain commands display additional information.
(See "Understanding Command Modes" on page 4-6.)
Syntax
enable [level]
level - Privilege level to log into the device.
The device has two predefined privilege levels: 0: Normal Exec,
15: Privileged Exec. Enter level 15 to access Privileged Exec mode.
