Check the engine oil with the engine at normal operating
temperature and the motorcycle on its center stand to assure an
accurate reading.
1. Park your motorcycle on
its
center stand on a finn, level
surface.
2. Remove the front and rear
right
side covers.
3. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. Stop the
engine. Wait a few minutes.
4. Remove the dipstick and wipe it clean.
5. Insert the dipstick until it seats, but don't screw it
in.
6. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.
• If
the oil is at or near the upper
level mark - you do not
have to add oil.
• If
lhe oil is below or near the lower level mark - remove
the filler cap and add the recommended oil until
it
reaches
the upper level mark. (Do not overfill.)
7. Reinstall the dipstick and filler cap
(if
removed).
8. Reinstall the front and rear right side covers.
9. Check for oil leaks.
