Accessories
Although
yOUf
motorcycle comes equipped
with
many
convenience features, you may wish at some time to replace a
standard piece of equipment or add an accessory.
Before you consider adding an accessory. be sure to read the
following infonnalion.
AWARNING
Improper accessories or
modifications can cause a crash in
which you can be seriously hurt or
killed.
Follow all instructions in this owner's
manual regarding accessories and
modifications.
We slrOngly recommend that you use only genuine Honda
accessories that have been specifically designed and tested for
your motorcycle. Because Honda cannot test all other
accessories, you must be personally responsible for proper
selection, installation, and use of non-Honda accessories.
Check with your dealer for assistance and always follow these
guidelines:
• Do not add any electrical equipment that will exceed the
motorcycle's electrical system capacity (page 183). A blown
fuse can cause a loss of lights or engine power (page 170).
• Make sure the accessory does nm obscure any Hghts, reduce
ground clearance and lean angle, limit suspension travel or
steering travel, alter your riding position, or interfere with
operating any controls.
• Do not pull a trailer or sidecar with your motorcycle. 11lis
motorcycle was not
designed
for these attachments, and
their
use can seriously impair your motorcycle's handling. increase
wear on drive line components, and possibly do other damage.
