Frame Relay Protocol

The philosophy behind the Frame Relay protocol is fairly
simple - if a valid frame is received the network attempts
to forward it to its destination. If an invalid frame is
received, nodes on the network discard the frame without
notifying the end user. The responsibility of ensuring
frames are received in sequence, and in the recovery of
lost or discarded frames, resides with the end user devices.
Frames may be invalid for the following reasons :
the DLCI is invalid or is not supported.
the frame has become corrupted and consequently
there is an error in the FCS.
the frame does not contain flags to indicate the start
and end positions.
the frame exceeds the maximum size (over-run) or is
too short in length (under-run).
the frame does not contain a valid number of bits to
make up an octet.
