Alternatively, you can bypass OPTIMOD-PC's processing of the tones by exploit-
ing the P

hardware input and one Direct Mixer to the tone generator.
A) Connect the output of the tone generator to a free OPTIMOD-PC input.
B) Use the a Direct Mixer to mix the output of the tone generator with the proc-
essed audio, received from the audio processor loopback input.
C) Drive the transmission system with the output of the chosen Direct Mixer.
D) Use the chosen Direct Mixer to mix the tone generator and processed signal as
desired.
You can use the control API to automate muting and unmuting the tone
and processor return inputs on the chosen Direct Mixer. See OPTIMOD-PC
System/Mixer Control API starting on page 6-1.
E) In OPTIMOD-PC's Output Levels tab (in the I/O mixer), assign to the chosen Di-
rect Mixer the OPTIMOD-PC output driving your target system.

Use the five-band structure and set the B3>B4 C
controls to a higher value. This will allow the processing to apply more dynamic
high frequency boost. In the surround processing, adjust these controls in the
center channel compressor.

and to assess the effect of customizing those presets.

OPTIMOD-PC is a complex processor that can be adjusted for many different
tastes. For most users, the factory presets, as augmented by the gamut offered by

control for each preset, are sufficient to find a satisfactory
