Installing a power supply

The power supply slots of a 12910 AC switch are located below the front panel of the switch. They are
numbered as PWR1 through PWR8.
You can install the power supply in any empty power supply slot.
When moving a power supply, hold its two sides with both hands. For information about the power
supplies, see
To install the power supply for a 12910 AC switch:
1. Wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap and make sure it makes good skin contact and is well
grounded. For more information, see
2. Remove the protection cover (if any) from the chassis. For more information, see
procedures."
3. Unpack the power supply.
4. As shown in callout 1 in
a. Push the latch on the power supply outward and open the panel of the power supply.
b. Select the slot (PWR1 for example) to install the power supply, hold the two sides of the power
supply with both hands, and push the power supply along the guide rails into the slot until it has
firm contact with the slot.
5. Close the panel and push the latch inward.
6. Install other power supplies as needed in the same way.
