NOTE:
Up to eight power supplies can be installed on a 12910 AC switch.
Card LEDs
The MPU has the LEDs numbered the same as card slots to indicate the status of the active MPU, standby
MPU, LPUs, and switching fabric modules in the slots.
On each 12910 AC switch:
The slot numbers of LPUs are marked above the slots on the front panel.

• The slot numbers of MPUs and switching fabric modules are marked to the right of the slots on the
rear panel.

NOTE:
It is normal that the ALM LED for an LPU lights for a period of time at the initial phase of the system startup.
MPU active/standby status LED
The MPU has one ACTIVE LED to indicate the active or standby status of the MPU.

LPU LEDs

The HP FlexFabric 12900 switches support SFP+ ports and QSFP+ ports.
SFP+ port LED
The LPUs provide one SFP+ port LED for each SFP+ port to indicate the link status and data
receiving/forwarding status of the SFP+ ports.
ALM Description
Off The card is operating correctly.
The card is loading software.
Steady on
(If the RUN LED keeps flashing and the ALM LED keeps steady on, the software
version of the switch does not match that of the card.)
Flashing
The temperature of the card is higher than the alarm threshold.
(0.5 Hz)
Steady on The card is starting up or the card is faulty.
Off The card is not in position.
Description
The MPU is active.
