3. Replace the power cable and verify that the power supply status LEDs are normal.
4. Examine the power supply installation. Re-install the power supply to make sure it has a close
contact with the backplane of the switch. For more information, see
5. Examine the power supply system. Make sure the power supply system is operating correctly and
providing a normal voltage.
6. Examine the power supply. Make sure the power supply does not have problems such as output
short-circuit, output over-current, output over-voltage, input under-voltage, or over temperature.
7. Install the power supply to another slot. If the power supply can operate correctly, the previous
power supply slot is faulty. If the power supply cannot operate correctly, see the next step.
8. Install a normal power supply into the same slot, and connect it to the same power input end. If the
new power supply can operate correctly, the old power supply has failed. Contact your sales
agent or local service engineer to replace the old power supply.

Fan failure

The 12910 AC switch provides a fan status LED (FAN) on its front panel. Both the MPU and the fan tray
provide the fan tray LEDs, including an OK LED and a FAIL LED.
NOTE:
Two fan tray slots are available on a 12910 AC switch. One fan tray can fully meet heat dissipation
requirement of the switch. If only one fan tray is available, install it in slot FAN2.
If the FAN LED is red, or the OK LED is off and the FAIL LED is on, the fan tray has failed. To troubleshoot
the fan tray:
1. If both LEDs are off, verify that the power supplies are operating correctly. For more information,
see "Power supply system
2. Use the display fan command in any view to display the operating status of the fan tray:
Whether the fan tray is present
Airflow direction of the fan
Number of fans in the fan tray
Operating status of each fan
Fan speed
3. Verify that the air intake and exhaust vents of the chassis are not blocked. If they are blocked,
clean them to keep good ventilation.
4. Verify that the fan tray is fully seated. You can remove the fan tray, install it again, and then insert
and fasten the screws. During this process, examine the status of the LEDs on the fan tray.
5. Verify that the empty LPU slots and power supply slots are installed with filler panels. If not, install
filler panels for them to guarantee good ventilation.
6. If the failure persists, contact HP Support.
