RETURNING MATERIAL

Return of Material
If factory repair of defective equipment is required, proceed as follows:
1. Secure a return authorization number from an Emerson Sales Office
or representative before returning the equipment. Equipment must be
returned with complete identification in accordance with Emerson
instructions or it will not be accepted.
In no event will Emerson be responsible for equipment returned without
proper authorization and identification.
2. Carefully pack defective unit in a sturdy box with sufficient shock
absorbing material to ensure that no additional damage will occur during
shipping.
3. In a cover letter, describe completely:
a. The symptoms from which it was determined that the equipment is
faulty.
b. The environment in which the equipment has been operating
(housing, weather, vibration, dust, etc.).
c. Site from which equipment was removed.
d. Whether warranty or nonwarranty service is requested.
e. Complete shipping instructions for return of equipment.
f. Reference the return authorization number.
4. Enclose a cover letter and purchase order and ship the defective
equipment according to instructions provided in Emerson Return
Authorization, prepaid, to:

If warranty service is requested, the defective unit will be carefully inspected
and tested at the factory. If failure was due to conditions listed in the standard
Rosemount warranty, the defective unit will be repaired or replaced at
Emerson's option, and an operating unit will be returned to the customer in
accordance with shipping instructions furnished in the cover letter.
For equipment no longer under warranty, the equipment will be repaired at the
factory and returned as directed by the purchase order and shipping
instructions.
