Hardware Compatibility
The SMART Board driver supports SMART's SC4 and SC5 serial
controllers and multiple SMART Boards. The Windows version of
SMART Board driver is plug-and-play compatible. You can operate
Notebook on up to four non-projected SMART Boards simultaneously. If
you prefer, up to one of these SMART Boards can be run with projection.
Online Help
Extensive Help files are available to provide online assistance. Select
Contents or Help Topics from the Help menu of SMART Board driver,
SMART Notebook or SMART Aware to open the Table of Contents for
the online Help system. Topics can be quickly opened from this initial
Table of Contents or from internal Help hotspots.
Context-sensitive Help is also available to provide quick access to Help
topics on commands, screen features and toolbar buttons. In Notebook,
click once on the context-sensitive Help button on the Full or Compact
Toolbar, then click again on an area of the screen to view a related Help
topic. In the SMART Board driver window, press the SHIFT key and the
F1 key, move your cursor to an area of the screen, click once, and a
related Help topic will appear. On other screens and dialogs, simply
press the F1 key, move the cursor and click once.
About this Guide
The first section of this guide tells you how to manage the Board driver
software both with and without a projector. The sections that follow are
organized around the typical tasks performed before, during and after a
SMART Board presentation.
We focus first on using a SMART Board to create both Notebook files
and annotation objects within those files, import information from other
sources, and then sort and edit file contents. You'll learn how to
effectively use your SMART Board during a presentation and then how
to print and/or send Notebook files to participants or any interested party.
The guide concludes with an overview of how to use six popular third-
party conferencing applications as Board-aware programs on the
SMART Board. Two final appendices provide advice on SMART Board
maintenance and SMART Board troubleshooting tips.
