General Tips for Trouble-Free Performance

These tips apply to a SMART Board that is completely set up, with the
SMART Board Software installed and running.
Make sure all the pens and the eraser are placed securely in the
Pen Tray.
Check to see that the Ready light on the Pen Tray is on.
Ensure that the SMART Board is connected to a COM port that
is recognized by the operating system and is not being used by
another program.

Q. Why does the Ready light on my Pen Tray flash twice when it is
first connected to a power source, then go out again?
A. This flash indicates that the Pen Tray is performing a self-check.
The Ready light will come on and remain on when the SMART
Board driver is running. If the Ready light fails to come on and
stay on when you're running the software, phone SMART
Technical Support for further assistance.
Q. The SMART Board does not seem to recognize one of my pens.
When I pick it up and write with it, no electronic ink is displayed.
