Getting Started with SMART Audio
This quick reference guide provides an overview of SMART Audio. If you will be using SMART Audio with a SMART
Board
interactive whiteboard or other SMART hardware products, make sure that you have Notebook
learning software 10 and the SMART Board drivers loaded onto the computer. For more information about the software,
visit http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Support.

Using the teacher microphone

1 Turn on the receiver by switching the power switch to ON
2 Turn on the teacher microphone by turning the power switch to ON
3 Set the teacher microphone's channel switch to CH A
4 Place the microphone's lanyard around your neck
5 Slide the microphone up or down the lanyard until the microphone is six inches from your mouth, or remove the
lanyard and attach the microphone to your clothing using the belt clip
6 Begin speaking, without blocking the infrared transmitter on the microphone, and adjust the CHANNEL A volume
dial on the receiver until you reach the desired volume level

Using the student handheld microphone

1 If you haven't already, turn on the receiver by switching the power switch to ON
2 Twist the lower section of the microphone counter-clockwise to open the battery cover
3 Set the microphone's channel switch to CH B
4 Twist the lower section of the microphone clockwise to close the battery cover
5 Turn on the microphone by turning the power switch to ON
6 Begin speaking with the microphone under your chin and within three inches from your mouth
7 Adjust the CHANNEL B volume dial on the receiver until you reach the desired volume level

: For optimal functionality, don't block the infrared transmitters on the student and teacher microphones.
