SMART Board™ Overview
The SMART Board is an interactive, electronic whiteboard, available in a
range of sizes and models that can be used with or without a projector.
When the SMART Board is attached to a computer, it allows you to
collaborate on electronic documents, create a wide variety of annotation
objects, import information from almost any electronic source, and save,
print or e-mail a complete record of any SMART Board meeting. All
notes written on the SMART Board with regular dry erase markers can
be saved to a SMART Notebook™ file.
For information on installing both SMART Board hardware and software
components, refer to the companion manual to this user's guide, the
SMART Board Installation Guide.
Creating Notebook Files on the SMART
Board
The notes you create on the SMART Board can be hand-written,
graphical or keyboard-input annotation objects. These notes can be
stored as a series of pages in a Notebook file, which can serve a wide
range of purposes.
You can take notes during a meeting, creating a simple record of the
highlights of an informal brainstorming session, then save them for future
reference, print them out for hardcopy distribution or send electronic
copies through your company's intranet to all attendees.
You can present a complex and visually elaborate presentation prepared
in advance using both SMART Pen Tray™ tools and the drawing, writing
and importing tools available with SMART Notebook. As pages are
viewed and discussed, passages can be highlighted and annotated with
the same tools.
Using SMART Board Tools
Pick up a pen from the Pen Tray and write on the Notebook workspace

area or on top of any Windows

application. If you change
your mind or make a mistake, use the Pen Tray eraser to erase it. This is
