Running Applications on a Projected SMART
Board
If you project a Macintosh or Windows application on the SMART Board,
the SMART Board driver software enables you to control that application
with your finger (a finger press being equivalent to a mouse click) and
annotate over top of it with the Pen Tray tools, keyboard, or your finger
and then save your annotations to a Notebook file (using Notebook
Screen Capture) for future reference and distribution.

Board-Aware Applications

A Board-aware application is a program written to take advantage of
SMART Board features, recognizing pen or drawing tool marks not as
external annotations but as integral program components. SMART Board
Software supports the following Windows Board-aware applications:
SMART Notebook (Versions 1.0 and 1.1) for Macintosh and
Windows
SMART 2000 Conferencing (Version 3.4)
SMART Ideas (Version 1.0)
Running Third-Party Conferencing Applications as
Board-Aware Programs
You can also use the SMART Board to run the leading desktop
conferencing applications as Board-aware programs, integrating SMART
Board functionality, with or without projection, with such conferencing
software as Microsoft NetMeeting™ and Intel™ ProShare™. When
these and other leading conferencing applications are run on the SMART
Board, whatever is written on the Board at one site is communicated to
all conferencing participants. This feature is enabled by the SMART
Aware™ application that runs with the SMART Board driver.
