The 1-Wire® Interface
The MT 4000 includes a 1-Wire® interface that enables the device to communicate with the
following accessories:
1. An iButton®receiver to allow for Driver ID (iButton® and receiver not included).
2. Up to two 1 wire Temperature Sensors
For more information about the functions of the iButton® and the Temperature sensor(s) refer
to the 1-Wire Application Note (ENF0000AN018).

Power

The MT 4000 accepts 9-32 VDC with a minimum of 2 amps input power, which allows you to
use the device on both 12 V and 24 V vehicles per SAE specifications. This also protects 24 V
vehicles when you need to jump-start them.
Pins 17 and 18 on the 22-Pin IO connector are the power input and pins 6 and 7 are ground. We
recommend using both power pins and both ground pins.

Power Consumption

< 25 mA @ 12 V in "GPRS/SMS" mode (GPS off; lowest current consumption while still able to
contact the device)
< 70 mA @ 12 V in "Tracking" mode (GPS on)

Low-Power Sleep Mode

< 1.5 mA @ 12 V
The MT 4000 can use Low-Power Sleep Mode, which you can configure for exiting low-power
sleep when:
