7.2 Troubleshooting

Engine does not turn when starter is actuated
Cause
Battery low or faulty
Battery: Cable connections faulty
Engine wiring faulty
Assemblies or connectors on LOP
loose
Plug-in connections on Engine
Control Unit loose
Plug-in connections on Engine
Interface Module (EIM) loose
Fuse F1 (→ Page 44) in engine
wiring harness faulty (fuse lamp
on EIM flashes with relevant
flashing code)
Running gear blocked (engine can
not be barred manually)
Engine turns on starting, but does not fire
Cause
Poor rotation by starter: Battery
low or faulty
Engine wiring faulty
Engine Control Unit faulty
Engine fires unevenly
Cause

Corrective action
