A message box pops up when the NVR starts up if there exits any uninitialized HDD. The S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) is a monitoring system for HDD to detect and report on various indicators of reliability in the hopes of anticipating failures.

The two streams are generated by the NVR, with the main stream having a maximum resolution of 4CIF and the sub-stream having a maximum resolution of CIF.
