Setting External Slate Mic Gain

The gain of the slate mic is 36 dB by default. When using an external micro-
phone as the slate mic, however, this gain can be adjusted:
To adjust external slate microphone gain:
1. Press the MENU button.
2.
Turn and press the Headphone encoder to select COMMS/RETURNS > Ext
Slate/Com Mic Gain.
3.
Turn the Headphone encoder to adjust slate microphone gain (0 dB - 36
dB).
For quick adjustment of external slate microphone gain, slide the MIC/TONE switch

to the left and hold while turning the Headphone encoder. This shortcut only
applies to the slate mic when the slate mic source is set to one of its external mic
options; if not, this shortcut adjusts headphone gain.

Monitoring Returns

The 664 is equipped with three stereo returns (RTN A, B, C) for monitoring
camera audio. RTN audio levels can be metered and quickly monitored on the
664 headphone output with a toggle of the A B/C switch. For more information

The following procedure describes default behavior of the A B/C switch;
however, it may be modified to behave differently. See

To monitor RTNs, do any of the following:
Slide the A B/C switch left for RTN A. Slide again to return to original head-

Slide the A B/C switch right for RTN B. Slide again to return to original

headphone source.
Press in and hold the Select encoder and slide the A B/C switch right for

RTN C. Repeat to return to original headphone source.
RTN monitoring will cancel PFL mix program when activated.
