I/O module replacement
Do not operate the Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 with an empty module slot. If you
need to replace a failed module and you do not yet have a replacement module, leave the
failed module installed or install a filler panel.
Procedure steps
1. Disconnect any cables attached to the ports on the module.
2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the two captive screws that secure the module

to the chassis as shown in the following figures.
Throughout the remainder of this procedure, the first figure shows the 8003-R, 8006,
and 8010 chassis; the second shows the 8010co chassis.
