SIDE STAND

This motorcycle is equipped with a side
stand to support the motorcycle when park-
ing. An interlock system is provided to cut off
the ignition circuit when the side stand is
down and the transmission is in any gear
other than neutral.
The side stand/ignition interlock system
works as follows:
• If the side stand is down and the trans-
mission is in gear, the engine can not be
started.
• If the engine is running and the transmis-
sion is shifted into gear with the side
stand down, the engine will stop running.
• If the engine is running and the side
stand is put down with the transmission
in gear, the engine will stop running.
 WARNING
Riding with the side stand incompletely
retracted can result in an accident when
you turn left.
Check operation of the side stand/igni-
tion interlock system before riding.
Always retract the side stand completely
before starting off.
