FINAL GEAR OIL

Change the gear oil at initial 1000 km (600
miles) and inspect every 12000 km (7500
miles). Use SAE90 hypoid gear oil which is
rated GL-5 under API classification system.
If you operate the motorcycle where ambient
temperature is below 0°C (32°F) use SAE
80 hypoid gear oil. The procedure is as fol-
lows:
1. Place the motorcycle on the side stand.
2. Remove the oil filler cap 1.
3. Drain the oil by removing the drain plug
2 into a suitable container from the bot-
tom of the final gear case while holding
the motorcycle vertically.
4. Reinstall the drain plug and tighten it
securely after all the oil has been
drained out. Pour fresh oil through the
filler hole until the oil level reaches the oil
filler hole while holding the motorcycle
vertically. Approximately 200 – 220 ml
(6.8 – 7.4/7.0 – 7.7 US/Imp oz) of oil will
be required.
5. Reinstall the oil filler cap.
