When the display indicates "CHEC", check
the following items;
• Make sure that the engine stop switch is
in the "" position.
• Make sure that the transmission is in
neutral or the side stand is fully up.
If the display still indicates "CHEC" after
checking the above items, inspect the igni-
tion fuse and the connection of the lead wire
couplers.

The display has six functions, clock, odome-
ter, two trip meters, instrument panel light
brightness and gear position. When the igni-
tion switch is turned to the "ON" position, the
display indicates the test pattern shown
below for two seconds. After the test pattern
is displayed, the display will show the func-
tion that was displayed the last time that the
ignition switch was turned off.
