DESIGN OF DISK DATA FILES
Introduction
The formats of cards and form s are the tangible
types of input/ output. You still must design the in-
tangible record formats.
Your 1130 Computing System is concerned with
two different intangible records: those in core
storage and those on the disk cartridge. Although
the storage media are different, the design consid-
erations are the same.
The items discussed in this section concern the
components of disk records, the order of the com-
ponents, and groups of records. Considerations
covered include growth, organization, and content.
