After configuring the settings, press the button to select your assigned function. These buttons are available only if the machine was set up using the wired network method with the installation disc and a USB cable (see the Quick Setup Guide).

    You can use card authentication by touching the IC card to the NFC Reader on the control panel. If your Android™ device supports the NFC standard, you can scan to your device by touching it to the NFC logo. You must download and install Brother iPrint&Scan to your Android™ device to use this feature.

    General Information Touchscreen LCD You can select one of four screens as the Home screen. When the Home screen is displayed, you can change the displayed screen by swiping left or right, or pressing d or c. The following screens display the machine’s status when the machine is idle: Scan 1 screen The Scan 1 screen provides access to scan features, such as Scan to Web, Scan to PC, Scan to Network.

    Document Specifications Conditions for Multifeed Detection Multifeed is an error where two or more sheets are fed through the ADF at once. It is also called a multifeed when a different document length is detected. Multifeed detection is performed by either checking the overlapping of documents, length of the documents, or the combination of both.
  • Page 71 Document Specifications  Paper size When you scan a mixed batch with different sizes, not feeding the documents straight may cause problems, such as paper jams or part of the image to appear missing. We recommend checking the documents thoroughly before scanning and also checking the image if the document was skewed.

    Routine Maintenance Check Supplies Replacement Cycle (ADS-2800W / ADS-3600W) On the scanner’s Touchscreen press (All Settings). Press Machine Info. Press Usage Counter. The Touchscreen displays Reverse Roller Count and Pick up roller Count. NOTE If the Touchscreen notifications warn you to replace the reverse roller or the pick-up roller, order the necessary parts, and then replace the used parts with the new ones.

Pull down the green lever a towards you and slide the pick-up roller out to the left. NOTE Be careful not to break the green hook. If it does not pull down easily, gently use a little more force. NOTE If you have problems with removing the green hook, pull it with more force.
  • Page 260 Routine Maintenance Take the new pick-up roller and rotate the centre pin towards you. While holding the new pick-up roller as shown in the illustration, make sure the green lever remains upright. Insert the new pick-up roller into the machine as shown in the illustration.

    Routine Maintenance Replace the Reverse Roller Your machine is equipped with a scan counter that automatically counts how many times the machine has scanned. When the machine scans 200,000 times, the Status Monitor displays a message to remind you to replace the reverse roller.
