Function:
Matches the starter to the connected motor's full load current. Set to the full load current (FLC)
rating shown on the motor nameplate.
Function:
Sets the maximum length of the time the motor can run at locked rotor current from cold before
reaching its maximum temperature. Set according to the motor datasheet.
If this information is not available, we recommend the value should be less than 20 seconds.
Function:
Selects the soft start mode. See
Starting Modes
Function:
Sets the current limit for constant current and current ramp soft starting, as a percentage of motor

full load current. See
Function:
Sets the initial start current level for current ramp starting, as a percentage of motor full load current.
Set so that the motor begins to accelerate immediately after a start is initiated.
If current ramp starting is not required, set the initial current equal to the current limit. See
Modes
in chapter
Application Examples
Function:
Sets the total start time for an AAC Adaptive Control start or the ramp time for current ramp starting
(from the initial current to the current limit). See
for more details.
Function:
Sets the level of the kickstart current.
NB!
Kickstart subjects the mechanical equipment to increased torque levels. Ensure
the motor, load and couplings can handle the additional torque before using this
feature.
Function:
Sets the kickstart duration. A setting of 0 disables kickstart. See
cation Examples
for more details.
Function:
Excess start time is the maximum time the MCD 500 will attempt to start the motor. If the motor
does not reach full speed within the programmed limit, the starter will trip. Set for a period slightly
longer than required for a normal healthy start. A setting of 0 disables excess start time protection.
Set as required.
