INSTALLING THE STARTER CLUTCH

1. Install:
Starter clutch assembly "1"
G
Push the starter clutch assembly strongly un-
til bumping. (Turn the projection part "a" to
the interior side.)

2. Install:
Starter clutch side plate "1"
G
Set the 4 tabs "a" of the starter clutch side
plate to the groove "b" of the generator rotor
"2" securely.

INSTALLING THE GENERATOR

1. Install:
Woodruff key
G
Generator rotor
G
Washer
G
Generator rotor bolt
G
GENERATOR AND STARTER CLUTCH

NOTE:
Clean the tapered portion of the crankshaft
G
and the generator rotor hub.
When installing the generator rotor, make sure
G
the woodruff key is properly sealed in the key-
way of the crankshaft.
2. Tighten:
Generator rotor nut "1"
G
Generator rotor nut
65 Nm (6.5 m•kg, 47 ft•lb)
NOTE:
While holding the generator rotor "3" with the
G
sheave holder "2", tighten the generator rotor
bolt.
Do not allow the sheave holder to touch the
G
projection on the generator rotor.

3. Install:
Starter idler gears
G
4. Install:
Left crankcase cover "1"
G
Crankcase cover bolt
10 Nm (1.0 m•kg, 7.2 ft•lb)
NOTE:
Tighten bolts in a crisscross pattern.

Use copper washer for part "2" only.
