Preparing the PC stations (overview)

Introduction
After installing the PCS 7 software, configure and set up the communication interfaces.
Requirements
● The PCS 7 software and PCS 7 hardware have been installed.
● The communications processors have been installed.
Note
To commission SIMATIC PCS 7 BOX, use the manual
SIMATIC PCS 7 BOX.
Overview of the individual steps
The following settings must be performed on all PC stations to allow all automation systems
(AS) and PC stations (for example OS, BATCH) of a PCS 7 project to be configured, loaded
and tested from one central engineering station (ES).
These settings first have to be made on the central engineering station.
