Chapter 45: Configuring BGP Features

Configuring IBGP Sessions

An IBGP Session is established between 2 BGP peers if they both belong to the same
autonomous system number. They need not be directly connected to make any peer
relationship. IBGP Sessions need to be fully meshed to get EBGP routes advertised to all peers
in the autonomous system.

Configuring an IBGP Session between 2 Avaya Secure Routers.

CONFIGURATION OF Avaya1:
interface bundle ToAvaya2
link t1 4
encapsulation ppp
ip address 40.40.40.1 255.255.255.0
exit
router bgp 100
neighbor 40.40.40.2 100
exit
CONFIGURATION OF Avaya2:
interface bundle ToAvaya1
link t1 4
encapsulation ppp
ip address 40.40.40.2 255.255.255.0
exit
router bgp 100
neighbor 40.40.40.1 100
exit
The above configuration should bring up an IBGP Session between Avaya1 and Avaya2.
