Fast Switch System and Cable Specifications

Recommended Cables and Cable Specifications

The cable between the switch and the link partner (hub, workstation, etc.)
must be less than 100 meters (328 ft) long. 10Base-T segments can use 22, 24
or 26-gauge TP cabling that complies with IEEE 802.3 10Base-T standard for
Category 3, 4 or 5. 100Base-TX segments must use IEEE 802.3u compliant
Category 5 TP cable.
The AT-FS200 family of switches use three types of cabling:
UTP/STP cable (RJ45 connector) for both 10/100Base-TX
Fiber optics cable (ST/SC connector) for 100Base-FX
Table 6 provides an overview of IEEE 802.3 and 802.3u cabling specifications
for 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, and 100Base-FX network configurations using
twisted-pair cable and fiber optics.
