Using Ink Aware
Ink Aware integrates SMART software with applications such as Microsoft® Word, Excel® and
PowerPoint®. When you use an application that is Ink Aware, whatever you write or draw on your
interactive whiteboard is embedded within the file, rather than remaining as an external note
created over the file.
To view a list of Ink Aware applications
1. Open the SMART control panel.
2. Press Configure SMART Tools.
3. Select Ink Aware Program Settings.
The Aware dialog box appears. You can enable or disable Ink Aware for any of the
applications in the list.
Writing, selecting and erasing using object
awareness
The SMART Board 800 series interactive whiteboard features object awareness, which means you
can pick up a pen and write, select or erase without replacing the pen. SMART software interprets
your intent when you press the interactive surface, based on both the type of tool you're using and
the size of the contact area.
If you touch the interactive surface with the pen, SMART software identifies its reflective
l
surface, and you write or draw in digital ink on the screen.
