Throttle Freeplay Adjustment
Inspection
1. Place the transmission in the Neutral (N) position.
2. Start the engine and warm it up thoroughly.
3. Measure the distance the throttle pedal moves before
the engine begins to pick up speed. Freeplay should
be 1/16" - 1/8" (1.5 - 3 mm).
Adjustment
1. The throttle cable adjuster is located at the throttle
pedal housing, outside of the cab well.

2. Slide back the cable adjuster boot.
3. Using an open-end wrench, loosen the adjustment
jam nut.
4. Using an open-end wrench, move the cable adjuster
until 1/16" to 1/8" (1.5 - 3 mm) of freeplay is achieved
at the throttle pedal.
NOTE: While adjusting, lightly move the throttle
pedal in and out.
5. Re-tighten the jam nut.
6. Apply a small amount of grease to the inside of the
boot and slide it over the cable adjuster to its original
position.

Throttle Cable Replacement
1. Turn engine off, then place the vehicle in neutral and

Follow the factory cable routing as installed to
prevent cable pinching, binding or damage.
Do not allow cable to hang below vehicle frame.
Failure to install properly could result in loss of
vehicle control, resulting in severe injury or death.
